Supplements
In Ayurveda, particularly the Tibetan tradition, there are 4 levels of intervention based on invasiveness (#4 is most intense and deepest).
1. Lifestyle
2. Herbs
3. Pancha Karma
4. Spiritual
The tenet at the top of the page is also true- without proper diet, herbs are ineffective, and if diet is optimized, herbs are unnecessary. However, there are a few circumstances where herbs help speed up a healing process, so I’m starting to carry the ones I most commonly prescribe, and will link to the companies I refer to as soon as my page is up for them.
Here are the basic links to the companies for those of you I suggest a supplement, and you can check out descriptions of the herbs in parentheses after the links for the most common ones I prescribe with each company (I carry those for sale in my office- for the same cost on their websites but I’ve paid shipping for you).
Banyan Botanicals (Nasya oil, Shatavari, Kitchari spice mix, dosha-specific massage oils)
MAPI (Maharishi Ayurveda Products International) (Amrit Kalash paste, Aller-Defense, Deep Rest) For this one, if you add the code seiffertt10 you’ll get 10% off your first order! Fun!
