- Meet Dr. Andrea Seiffertt
- Sustainable Health / Sustainable Medicine
Q. “What can you do for me, Dr. Andrea?” A. I teach skills and tools to reduce suffering, I help translate your body’s messages/symptoms to help you figure out how to create balance, and I help you reconnect with your higher self, to guide you towards total health using your own intuition.
Q. “How do you do all that?” A. Using physical exam findings, sometimes lab work, and your own story, together we peel back the layers to the roots of imbalances, we bring awareness there, and restore flow/energy/vitality with our treatment plan.
Q. “What types of skills do you teach?” A. Meditation, Pranayama, Ayurvedic yoga, nutrition/cooking concepts and recipes, sleep skills, home remedies, body communication and intuition.
Q. “How exactly will I start creating better health?” A. During an appointment or a series of appointments, you will receive all or some of the following: a daily routine including diet, exercise, sleep suggestions, instructions on home purification routines including self-massage, counseling, short-term herb formulas, and/or ‘homework’ to practice and develop your own insight.
Q. “Do you prescribe herbs or supplements?” A. Herbs are sometimes useful to correct problems more quickly, Panchakarma (cleansing regimens) is sometimes helpful to speed up the process of healing, Pranayama and Yoga instruction is sometimes needed, and of course I use diet modifications and recipes particular to your imbalances.
Q. “What conditions do you treat?” A. Integrative medicine is best for prevention but also can be efficient and gentle at treating and resolving the following acute and chronic conditions: common colds and flus, headaches and migraines, arthritis and back pain, fibromyalgia and ‘adrenal fatigue,’ over- and underweight, sleep disorders, food sensitivities and irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression, menopause transition and other women’s health issues. The following problems can be greatly helped and even sometimes reversed, but require us to be in communication with your primary care physician and any specialists who may be treating you- working together is of the utmost importance in these late stage imbalances: Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Heart Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis and other auto-immune conditions, Chronic Pain conditions, symptoms associated with cancer and chemotherapy, Hyper- and Hypothyroidism, Reproductive system disorders and Infertility, Neurological disorders, Kidney disorders and urinary tract conditions.
